You have to be careful with what you let your dog eat or a fun moment could turn out to be a disaster- don’t let the cute eyes fool you. Here are some examples of foods your dog can’t eat.
The pits of avocados are a choking hazard to your dog. Avocados also have persin which is very toxic to dogs even though it doesn’t aﬀect human beings. The compound is present in leaves, barks, seeds and fruits.
RAW FISH, EGGS, AND MEAT
Raw meat can contain bacteria that cause poisoning, and raw eggs may contain salmonella or e.coli, as for fish, the meat may harbor parasites.
GARLIC AND ONIONS
These are dangerous for your dog because they can destroy their red blood cells and cause anemia. It takes a large dosage to cause such harm though.
You may have heard of this before, all chocolates have a compound called theobromine. The compound can cause abnormal heart rhythms, tremors, seizures and even death.
Salt causes sodium ion poisoning in dogs and can cause diarrhea, vomiting, excessive thirst and bloat.
You read that right; your dog can’t have bacon. It causes pancreatitis in dogs and is also salted so your furry friend can’t have any.
Nuts can be extremely toxic to dogs and can cause vomiting and in worst case scenarios paralysis and death. Macadamia nuts and walnuts are especially bad for your dog.
RAISINS AND GRAPES
These are bad for your dog and worst still the toxins accumulate in the dog’s system eventually leading to
death. These can cause kidney failure even if the dog has had a small serving.
Caffeine is a stimulant that can cause heart palpitations, restlessness, and even death since they stimulate the
cardiac and nervous systems in dogs.
Don’t share your candy with your dog unless you want him dead. Xylitol, a sweetener found in most candies can cause loss of coordination, seizures and a sudden drop in blood sugar.
